Just completed the last of my 2nd draft edits for Act 1 of my novel. The last two pages were a bit half assed as one of the edits was “more running, more panic, more stuff’ but the point is its done. 

Now comes the fun part of retyping all of this as my drop box account saved only non writing files because my life is filled with first world problems.

One of those weird moods where I just cant get myself into my writing. I have a good word count for the day, it just feels meh…

Finishing up this chapter edit for my novel and watching the Hunger Games… again.

Then blogging, reading, and bed. Love Saturdays.

OMG just had one of those holy shit moments of inspiration. That moment that you have been waiting for through the whole novel. That moment. That moment where you can no longer type fast enough and you wish you hadn’t had that extra shot of espresso because this is more of a rush than any drug could ever give you. GAH THAT MOMENT!!!!

Chapter 7 is Re-Edited

I feel better about it, now that the plot hole is smaller. Nice. It is 6,624 words and the whole novel is at 93,244 words. So, I took a hit there. Oh well. Had to be done.

On to chapter 8…

I have finally done some editing today. It feels so good to be back in my novel.

I think people who say young adult is getting to dark are the people who look back on high school and think it really was the best years of their lives.

Having the biggest mental block in editing.

The plan for the rest of the night: edit until i cant think, read until I can’t see, then watch a movie until I fall asleep

Finally. This scene is edited. Not done. Not perfect. Just edited. It’s now in second draft stages which means I don’t have to look at it for a while. 

I can finally move on to the next scene. Just need to deiced if my frustration level is too high to tackle a chunk of it tonight.

My Nano Update of Sorts

So for nano, I have decided to plug through as much of book two, of my dystopian series, as I can. As you all know if you are my nano buddy (If you aren’t why not? Look for me I’m littlelummox on there. Message me and we can be all motivated writers together.) I’m not getting a huge word count… yet. 

I’m focusing on my plot outline right now. I have Thursday and Friday off, so my hope is to kill the word count gap then.

BUT… In my outline I just touched upon the mean girl of the book, and why she’s so mean and I’m instantly like “Dear God. Her life is so hard. Back story, why you coming at me like this?” I love these characters. Honestly. LOVE. They are my children and everything they do makes me cry.

How are your nanos going? Hows the word count?

Chapter 7 is done. Well- first edits are done. It is 7,646 words. More than I would like as so far the chapters range from 5-6k. But, never look a gift horse in the mouth.

My novel now stands at 94,326 words.

Passive happy. I am happy about it. I just feel quite ill.

Favorite Character: I disliked them all equally.

Favorite Line: The only line that stands out to me is “Do not go gentle into that goodnight.” But, even in Matched it’s known as a quote from Dylan Thomas.
