In order to have a clear story to bring into writers group I have to go back and rewrite/clean up some stuff from nanowrimo.
The story isn’t bad, and I don’t mind going through it again. It’s just the last time I went through a story a, I ended up overworking a really good plot. I gave up on before it was finished because I was so sick of it.
I know that wont happen to this story. I’m just really resisting.
This is one of those books I waited to read. I have no idea why I waited, but I did. And now that I have read it, I cant believe I waited so long.
Quick Summary: Before Hannah kills herself she records 13 tapes. Each tape has to do with a person who made her want to kill herself. Clay is on the tapes and keeps listening to find out why.
Pros: Great story. Well developed characters. Very good book. You should read it.
Cons: I have no real cons to mention just a clarity question. Didn’t the park where Hannah got her first kiss get demolished? So how could Clay go there in the end?
Updated my blog, going to start doing that weekly. Like a weekly review for those who like longer posts.
Writers group was fun. I didn’t show what I wanted to, because what I wanted to show wasn’t ready.
I need to stop repeating words. “I” is the word I am most guilty of over using. I hear it every group. I just can stop. (If you can tell I have used I 10 times in this alone.)
So I’m plotting things out so you should be getting post every day this week.
Monday - My Writing Habits
Tuesday - A Novel I Would Secretly Like to Write
Wednesday - A Review
Thursday - Writers Group Feedback
Friday - My Writing Update
Saturday - Musical Inspiration
Sunday - Visual Inspiraiton
Then on top of that quotes every day, and the random unplanned posting. I like this sort of set up for each week. What do you guys think? Anything you want to see that isn’t up here? Anything you hate that is up here?
I loved the action. The fight scenes were fantastic. Honestly. Just great.
Ellie, the main character, wasn’t my favorite. I know she is meant to be “very human” but I felt that her human moments were more overly girly and risky. She not only packed makeup on a trip that could end in her dying, but applied it and took her sweet time. Life, death, and Marykay?
I like that the love story isn’t between a human and an immortal whatever. They are both immortal in ways and have known each other for hundreds of lifetimes.
Overall… I would recommend this. I will continue on with the series.
