Back track

In order to have a clear story to bring into writers group I have to go back and rewrite/clean up some stuff from nanowrimo.

The story isn’t bad, and I don’t mind going through it again. It’s just the last time I went through a story a, I ended up overworking a really good plot. I gave up on before it was finished because I was so sick of it.

I know that wont happen to this story. I’m just really resisting.

Review of Timeless by Alexandra Monir
Quick Summary: Michele Windsor meets her soulmate, problem is she is living now he’s living in 1910.
Pros: It follows a sweet romance. I loved going through multiple time periods. The descriptions where lovely.
Cons: It’s another “I don’t know why I love you, I just do” romance. And there isn’t huge amounts of character development outside of Michele.
Overall: Great read if you want to get lost in a junk food novel.

Review: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
This is one of those books I waited to read. I have no idea why I waited, but I did. And now that I have read it, I cant believe I waited so long.
Quick Summary: Before Hannah kills herself she records 13 tapes. Each tape has to do with a person who made her want to kill herself. Clay is on the tapes and keeps listening to find out why.
Pros: Great story. Well developed characters. Very good book. You should read it.
Cons: I have no real cons to mention just a clarity question. Didn’t the park where Hannah got her first kiss get demolished? So how could Clay go there in the end?

I’m at it again…

The Hunger Games Review, But Mostly Random Gushing

In this video I rock a solid side pony tail and talk about bread. Mostly random thoughts on the fantastic novel, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Would you believe this thing was scripted?

How did you guys feel about the book?

Blog Update and Writers Group

Updated my blog, going to start doing that weekly. Like a weekly review for those who like longer posts.

Writers group was fun. I didn’t show what I wanted to, because what I wanted to show wasn’t ready.

I need to stop repeating words. “I” is the word I am most guilty of over using. I hear it every group. I just can stop. (If you can tell I have used I 10 times in this alone.)

Review: Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton
Text Format: Kindle
I loved the action. The fight scenes were fantastic. Honestly. Just great.
Ellie, the main character, wasn’t my favorite. I know she is meant to be “very human” but I felt that her human moments were more overly girly and risky. She not only packed makeup on a trip that could end in her dying, but applied it and took her sweet time. Life, death, and Marykay?
I like that the love story isn’t between a human and an immortal whatever. They are both immortal in ways and have known each other for hundreds of lifetimes.
Overall… I would recommend this. I will continue on with the series.
Happy reading!
