I am a would be, wanna be, wish I was writer. Young adult, specifically.
This is the place I keep the things I love, as most do. The things that make me laugh, inspire me, and, most importantly, keep me writing.
I am a procrastinator, a nerdfighter, and a coffee addicted receptionist.
This characters back story…

Working on my second cup of coffee. My cat is snuggled up behind me. Just reread the last scene of chapter 5 and made some still needed improvements there. Felling much better about tackling chapter 6.
Lets get this party started.
@10 months agoWooo! Longest it’s ever been! The longest I’ve ever worked on a novel. The most words I have ever written about one subject!

I have finished chapter 4! I actually had three other scenes that I was planning on including in this chapter, but the first two have brought it over the 6k mark. So I figured I’ll cut it off there.
My novel is now 83,202 words. Yeah. It feels good.
I’m also fantasy planning my London vacation. No idea if I could actually do it. But… Any ideas? Places to visit?
@10 months ago with 2 notesI drive 30 minutes from my house sit in a coffee shop and wait until inspiration hits. I have enough of the post apocalyptic novel written to bring into writers group on Wednesday. And I realize that it makes me sound like a feminazi, but that’s cool by me. So long as it’s got potential for a good story. Hopefully my group will help clean the thing up.
I’m actually thinking about posting the first few paragraphs… if it’s this rough, should I?
@11 months ago with 4 notesSo far in chapter three… which is good. It’s a chapter with a lot of important events, but I didn’t write a lot of detail the first time around.
I am really enjoy the writing, but more importantly I’m enjoying changing the Scrivener tabs from “first draft” to “revised draft.”
Motivations. I have them.
@11 months ago
I can feel it. It’s the rain. I thrive in the rain.
I have Andrew Belle playing in my ears, a delicious salad to my right, much needed caffeine to my left, and my scrivener document open in front of me.
@12 months ago with 1 noteIt is 3,452 words. It’s over 2000 words less then then chapter 1. Which I’m iffy about, but I’m not going to worry about that right now.

No big deal. My novels at 90k.

Yeah, it still needs work. But they are things I can’t change until I reread the next few scenes. So, for the time being Chapter 5, check.
It’s almost 6k which is pretty much a spot on match for the last four chapters. So all around I’m feeling good. Sleepy, but good.
@10 months ago with 1 noteAnd I’m staring at my novel…

I just… I just don’t… I mean I want to edit… but there is so much work to be done… the world needs so many more layers… it’s there… I just don’t…

WOOOOOO!
My mood is the best it’s been in weeks. I feel so accomplished. Also I’m only halfway through chapter 4 edits. Imagine how many more words I can add!
@11 months ago with 4 notesI forgot to tell you. I finished revising chapter 3 on Wednesday. Working on 4, with hopes of finishing it this weekend.
It’s just over 5k and what used to be the first 8 chapters are now three. The book is currently
WHAT!!!! Sorry, just checked the novel is OVER 80,000 WORDS!!!!

Progress!
New goal, 85k.
@11 months ago with 1 noteIn just once scene. Feeling pretty darn good about it.
Yeah, I guess I’ll go to work now.
@12 months ago with 1 noteSo, I “finished” editing chapter two a little while ago. And I thought it was short then, and I started chapter three which was even shorter. So I thought… Why not combine them?
So, with edits my novel is now 77,825 words!

Chapter two is 5,797 words and I like most of them. The first two chapters are what was originally the first 5 chapters. They equal over 10k of the words and I think I’m going to print them out and give them to the best friend to proof read. PROGRESS!
I have four hours left at work, and it’s the slowest day here as it is an American holiday. Lets see if we can make a dent in chapter three, shall we? Chocolate bar first…
