Some at my writers group say I should hold off on edits a little while. A month or so to let my brain focus on something new and come back with a fresh perspective.
I see the good in that.
But I also really want to work on cleaning it up a ways so I can give it out to be peer reviewed.
What are your opinions?

I have about four major events left in this book. I want to get them onto the page as fast as I can. And because of this I’m really abandoning quality. I know this is a first draft, so I am really trying to keep that in mind. I keep saying I’ll fix it later. But when I type things like “She turned to face the space where he had been, and he wasn’t there.” I really just want to slap myself.
Inner monologue: First drafts are terrible. Remember this, Rachel. Remember this.
I’m just really trying to keep my main thoughts on how proud I am of myself. I have never written so much on one story and, honestly, how can I expect my first draft of my first full novel to be any sort of good.
