This is the place I keep the things I love, as most do. The things that make me laugh, inspire me, and, most importantly, keep me writing.
I am a procrastinator, a nerdfighter, and a coffee addicted receptionist.
Someone who dates me needs to be okay with the fact that I will leave them for fictional characters.

One of the characters I’m writing about, in this sex scene, has turned out to be based around someone I know. I met him halfway through writing this, but I keep thinking “What would *Not-Gunna-Use-His-Actual-Name do?” So, this character has ended up taking on the physical appearance of this person.
SO… I’m writing about sex… imagining someone I know.

the more I feel my story come to life. The closer to the final scene, the more on edge I feel. The more that needs to happen, the less I feel there is to go. The more I know about my characters, the more afraid I am to let them go.
I’m become more excited and terrified with every key I hit.

I was thinking, as a huge thank you to you guys who have been with me since, pretty much, the beginning of this novel, why not put your names in the book? Obv, the main characters are taken. But I still have a large group of people to introduce. Names for some, just descriptions for others.
I don’t know, it’s kinda dorky. But if it ever goes somewhere wont it be cool if you can say “Hey that’s me!”
So, anyone want to be in a book?
@1 year agoI love looking into the archetypes of my characters. I feel like I have reaffirmed all of my choices, and cleaned up some messy bits in the book to boot.

@8 months agoI have a character, Mr. Whyle or Mr. Wyle. It’s said like “while” so I’m thinking it should be spelled Wyle, to eliminate as much confusing as possible.
Any thoughts?

I did this with my cousin. I gave the “mean girl” her name. I was 40k into the book when I realized. Now I’m stuck with her as Molly, and the idea of changing her name physically hurts me. My characters are like real people to me. You can’t just go around changing peoples names.

I need a character name for someone raised in the wilderness. I want his name to be nature based.
I am calling him Arrow right now. My friend suggested Hunter, and I had considered that. But I see him as a blonde and Hunter is a brunette name to me.
Ideas?
