NaNoWriMo Update

I need 2229 words a day to finish/win nano. That doesn’t sound impossible. Saying I’m 10664 words behind makes me feel like I’m being slowly crushed by a purple elephant.

Skyrim is back in it’s box and nano is the only thing I get to do until it’s done. That and the every so often tumblr update because it oddly motivates me.

Just made it to 8336. Only one day behind… until I wake up tomorrow. 

Don’t care. I’m enjoying this. I wrote over 3000 words today. Yeah, I’m going to celebrate by not doing the math homework I’ve put off all week. Just until morning at least.

Not bad. I have created a great new reward system. I can’t check the 30 Covers in 30 Days forum until I’ve passed 1000 words for the day. That’s some fire under my butt.

Hello Again Tumblr

And a big ‘Howdy!’ to my new followers. (I hate that term p.s.)

Work has been insane. A few people have been out because of emergencies, and that has left me with a big work load I normally don’t have. So I have completely procrastinated with NaNoWriMo. 

I’m at 18k something. The words past the 18k marker are all filler. The nano filler I hate like song lyrics or a random zombie that makes it’s way into a non fiction nano historical. Bull like that.

So here is my goal. No more nano crap. I’m not going to make it to 50k but I’d rather not bullshit and fail, then kill myself trying to think of words to write when my brain has given up writing for the day.

Now here’s a cat stuck in a bag.

Just passed 15000. 

Now I’m a nice even 10000 words behind.

NaNoWriMo v. Skyrim

I say “No Skyrim until I’m 3000 words for the day.” Then I think about how awesome Skyrim is. “Ok, 1000 words in you can take a short break and play a little Skyrim.”

Six hours later.

Ugh, really gunna try to end the day only two days behind. I can catch up on the rest tomorrow. This weekend is going to have to be more 3000 word days and less time searching in ancient ruins.

NaNoWriMo Rewards:

1. Every 500 words I get a treat, right now I’m working through a pack of kit kats.

2. Every thousand I get to “cast” one of my characters.

3. I can only look at the 30 covers in 30 day’s forum after I reach the 1,667 goal for the day.

NaNoWriMo Word Count

Just broke 7000! Oh I am so on a roll! And this stuff is legit. It’s usable. I mean, it’s first draft usable. So take that into consideration, but I am in no way embarrassed by these 7060 words.

Yeah, I’m still behind, but this is such consistency for me. I feel like I’m going to catch up and maybe I might maintain this writing and actually win nano. Knock on wood.
